To maximize the positive impact of mentoring in our community, Rochester Mentors recognizes and promotes organizations providing quality mentoring experiences throughout Greater Rochester. By sharing standards for safe and effective mentoring, measuring impact, and gathering the abundant body of experience and wisdom from mentoring leaders in our community, we offer you a no-obligations, quick information session (or packet) to help you decide if becoming a mentor is right for you - and the program that will ignite your passion. Learn More The Need: In everyone’s life, there comes a time when he or she needs the support of a mentor, someone who will work hand in hand with that person to foster self-confidence, build character, and provide a meaningful relationship to help the person become a productive citizen.
Many in our community do not have mentors in their lives during their times of need. Meanwhile, there are excellent mentoring programs throughout the Rochester region that are not fully utilized. Rochester Mentors seeks to resolve this discrepancy. History: In the spring of 2006, individuals representing various local agencies, institutions and government bodies came together to consider the revitalization of what was formerly known as "The Rochester Mentoring Roundtable." From those meetings, Rochester Mentors was born. A New Era Begins! Proclamation: "Together, these organizations are a great treasure and provide promise for a better future in both Monroe County and the City of Rochester." (Proclaimed by Maggie Brooks and Bob Duffy) |
